Self Care Boudoir Shoot – The Perfect Way to Reconnect with Yourself đ„°
Ms A is the kind of woman I meet every single week. A mum. Busy. Always needed. Always doing something for someone else. Self care being the last thing on her mind, let alone anything remotely like a boudoir shoot.
She is the kind of woman who can organise a household, remember everyoneâs schedules, pack the lunches, find the missing socks, and still somehow be the emotional support system for everyone around her⊠all before 9am.
And yet, when it comes to herself, sheâs an afterthought.
When Ms A first walked into the studio, she carried that familiar energy I see so often in mums. A little tired. A little unsure. A little disconnected from herself. Because somewhere between the school runs, the endless to-do lists, the mental load, and the constant giving, she had slowly stopped seeing herself as anything other than âmum.â
And if youâre reading this and nodding, youâre not alone.

Ms A came in for a boudoir session because sheâd seen the beautiful photos of her friend Ms S, who is also a mum and absolutely loved her shoot experience. Ms A hadnât done anything for herself in a long time. Not properly or intentionally. Not something that was just for her, with no purpose attached to anyone else.
And thatâs the thing about mums⊠They donât just give their time. They give their energy. Their attention. Their identity. Piece by piece, without even realising it.
So when she booked this session, it wasnât because she felt confident. It wasnât because she felt ready. It wasnât because she looked in the mirror and thought, âYes, I love everything I see.â It was actually the opposite. She needed something to remind her of who she was outside of being everything to everyone else.
And thatâs exactly where boudoir comes in.

For the three hours she was at the studio, no one needed her. No one was asking for anything. No one was pulling at her.
It was quiet, calm and serene, and you could almost feel the noise inside her head start to settle.
Thatâs self-care for mums.
Most people are nervous at the start of their shoot, and I totally get that. But hereâs the thing I wish every mum, and every client really, knew:
You donât have to know what youâre doing. Thatâs my job.
I guide every pose. Every movement. Every little detail.
So all Ms A had to do was show up. And she did!
This is the moment when you get to stop overthinking. Stop holding back. Stops seeing yourself through the lens of exhaustion and responsibility. And start seeing yourself as a woman again. Not just a mum. And that moment is everything.
Because Ms A didnât suddenly become someone else. She didnât transform into a different person. She simply reconnected with a version of herself that had been there all along, just buried under everything else.

You donât need to change your body. You donât need to wait for the âright time.â You donât need a reason. You just need to remember that you matter too.
Because hereâs the reality no one talks about enough: When you constantly pour into everyone else without refilling your own cup⊠you burn out. You become overwhelmed. Overstimulated. Touched out. Exhausted in a way that sleep doesnât fix.
And then you feel guilty for feeling that way.
But youâre not failing. Youâre just empty. And doing something like this, just for yourself, fills you back up in a way thatâs hard to explain until you experience it.
By the end of her session, Ms A was different. Transformed. Not just because of the hair, the makeup, or the beautiful lingerie. But because of the quiet confidence that simply exists in someone who has charged their batteries. Someone who has stepped out of their comfort zone, and had fun doing it. Someone who has done something for themselves without the guilt.

Because mums deserve more than just surviving the day-to-day. They deserve to feel beautiful. To feel seen. To feel like themselves again.
So if youâre the kind of mum who always puts herself last⊠Who keeps saying âmaybe one dayâ⊠Who feels like sheâs lost a little piece of herself along the way⊠Let this be your reminder:
Youâre still in there. And youâre allowed to come back to yourself. Not when everything is perfect. Not when life slows down. Not when you finally feel âready.â
Now.
Exactly as you are. âš
