Reconnect with Your Body with Boudoir After Weight Loss 💖
There is something incredibly complex about the relationship we have with our bodies, because it is not static, it is not fixed. It is constantly evolving through every stage of our lives, and for many women, those changes can feel overwhelming, confusing, and at times deeply disconnecting. Ms A’s story is such a powerful reflection of that journey. 💜

When Ms A first reached out to me, she was honest, vulnerable, and incredibly self-aware, sharing, “I have recently lost 45kgs and wanting to be able to feel comfortable and sexy in my body again. After the weight loss and breastfeeding I don’t feel my body belongs to me anymore and I have heard so many people say they have found and regained confidence after a boudoir shoot.”
And that right there is something I hear more often than you might think. 💖
Because whether it’s weight loss, weight gain, pregnancy, breastfeeding, illness, surgery, hormonal changes, or simply life doing its thing, our bodies change, sometimes gradually and sometimes dramatically, and while the outside world might celebrate those changes, especially weight loss, what isn’t always talked about is how those changes can make you feel like a stranger in your own skin. ❤️🩹
Losing 45 kilos is an incredible achievement, no matter how it happens, whether it’s through hard work, lifestyle changes, surgery, or medical necessity, but what people don’t always see is the emotional side of that transformation, because when your body changes that significantly, it can take time for your mind to catch up, and even longer to feel at home in it again.
Add breastfeeding into the mix, which in itself is a deeply physical and often exhausting experience, and it’s no surprise that Ms A felt disconnected, like her body no longer fully belonged to her, like it had been through so much for everyone else that she wasn’t quite sure how to reclaim it for herself. 🌸

And this is where boudoir becomes so much more than just a photoshoot. 💜
Because it creates a space where you can gently reconnect with your body, not by forcing yourself to love every inch of it overnight, but by allowing yourself to see it differently, to experience it differently, and to begin building a new relationship with it, one that is rooted in appreciation rather than criticism.
Stepping into something like this after such a big physical and emotional journey can feel both exciting and vulnerable at the same time. Hair and makeup is always where the journey begins, because it’s not just about the transformation on the outside, it’s about the feeling of being taken care of, of sitting down, relaxing, having a chat, and allowing yourself to be the centre of attention for a little while, which for many women, especially mums, is something that doesn’t happen nearly enough.
As she watched herself in the mirror, you could see those little moments of surprise, those subtle shifts where she started to recognise herself again, not the version she used to be, but the version she is now, and that is such an important distinction, because this isn’t about going backwards, it’s about embracing who you are today.

When we moved into the shoot, everything was guided, gentle and intentional, because my job is not just to take photos, it’s to help you feel comfortable, confident and supported every step of the way, and that includes choosing poses, angles and lighting that flatter your body while still keeping everything feeling natural and authentic. 👏
And this is where so many women have that moment.
That moment where they stop seeing themselves through the lens of what’s changed, what’s different, what they’re unsure about, and start seeing themselves through a completely new perspective, one that highlights their beauty, their strength, and everything their body has carried them through! 🔥
Because here’s the truth that doesn’t get said enough:
Your body changing is not a failure. Your body gaining weight, losing weight, stretching, softening, healing, adapting, none of that is something you have done wrong.
Bodies change for so many reasons, some intentional, some completely out of our control, and whether it’s weight loss surgery, medical conditions, pregnancy, stress, hormones or life circumstances, none of that takes away from your worth or your beauty. 🥰
You are still allowed to feel confident.
You are still allowed to feel sexy.
You are still allowed to feel at home in your own body.
And that is exactly what Ms A began to rediscover during her session.

For Ms A, it wasn’t about pretending everything was perfect, it wasn’t about ignoring the changes she had been through, it was about seeing herself in a new light, about reconnecting with her body in a way that felt empowering rather than critical, and about realising that she didn’t need to wait for some future version of herself to feel beautiful. Because that version is already here.
By the end of the session, there was a softness, a confidence, and a quiet pride that hadn’t been there at the beginning, and that’s what makes this experience so powerful, because it doesn’t just give you photos, it gives you a new perspective, a new way of seeing yourself, and a reminder that your body is not something to fight against, but something to come back to.
Ms A’s journey is a beautiful reminder that no matter how your body has changed, no matter what it has been through, you are still worthy of feeling beautiful, you are still deserving of taking up space, and you are absolutely allowed to reconnect with yourself in a way that feels good. 😍
Because at the end of the day, this isn’t about the number on the scale or the version of you that once existed, it’s about who you are right now, in this moment, and learning to see her with kindness, confidence, and a whole lot of love.
And she is already more beautiful than she realises. ✨
