It’s okay to be a “Work-in-Progress” – Boudoir Mums Gold Coast 💖
There is a stage of motherhood that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough, and it’s that in-between phase where your body is no longer what it was before children, but it’s also not quite where you feel fully settled yet, where things feel like they are evolving, rebuilding, and sometimes it can feel like you’re living in a body you’re still trying to understand. Ms B’s story captures that space so beautifully. 🌸
When Ms B booked her session, she wasn’t chasing perfection, she wasn’t waiting for a “final result,” and she wasn’t putting her confidence on hold until she reached some imaginary end goal. Instead she came in with a mindset that I absolutely love, she described her body as a “work in progress,” and more importantly, she was starting to feel confident and comfortable within it again after having two babies and getting back into her fitness routine. 😍

So often, especially after having children, women feel like they need to “get their body back” before they’re allowed to feel good about themselves, like confidence is something that only comes at the end of the journey, once everything is toned, tightened and back to where it used to be, but the truth is, your body is not something that needs to be “fixed” before you can celebrate it. 🌸
After two babies, your body has done something extraordinary.
It has grown, carried, nourished and sustained life, and while that is something to be incredibly proud of, it also comes with changes, physical, emotional, and everything in between, and adjusting to those changes can take time. There’s softness where there wasn’t before. There are new curves, new textures, new sensations. And sometimes, there’s a disconnect between how you expect to feel and how you actually feel.
For Ms B, getting back into her fitness routine wasn’t just about appearance, it was about reconnecting with herself, rebuilding strength, and slowly starting to feel at home in her body again, and that journey deserves to be celebrated just as much as any “after” result. 🥰

Because progress is not just about where you end up. It’s about where you are right now.
When she walked into the studio, there was this beautiful energy about her, a mix of confidence and curiosity, like she was ready to explore this new version of herself but still discovering exactly what that looked like, and that is such a perfect place to start a boudoir session. Because you DON’T need to have it all figured out. You DO’T need to feel 100% confident.
You just need to show up! 👏
Hair and makeup gave her that first moment to pause, to sit, to be taken care of, and to step out of the everyday role of mum for a little while, because when you’re constantly giving to others, it’s so easy to forget what it feels like to receive, and that shift alone can be incredibly powerful. 🥹
As she stepped in front of the camera, I could see that she was already starting to feel it, that quiet confidence that comes from knowing you’re doing something for yourself, something that is just yours, and as we moved through the session, that confidence continued to build.
The posing, the lighting, the angles, everything is designed to flatter your body as it is right now, not as it was before children, not as it might be in the future, but exactly as it exists in this moment, and what I loved most about Ms B’s session was how she allowed herself to lean into that.
There was no holding back. No waiting. No “I’ll love this when…” Instead, there was presence. There was trust. And there was a growing sense of appreciation for her body, not just for how it looked, but for everything it had been through. 🔥

When you stop seeing your body as something that needs to be changed, and start seeing it as something that deserves to be celebrated, even in the middle of its evolution, that’s when you know it’s real.
Because there is no final version. There is no perfect endpoint. There is only you, as you are right now.
A very small but important part of Ms B’s experience was her choice around privacy, as she opted for anonymous sharing only, which means her images can be showcased without revealing her identity, and this is something I offer to ensure every woman feels completely comfortable and in control of how her photos are used, because your boundaries matter just as much as your experience.

Looking back at her session, what stands out the most is not just how stunning her images are, but how empowering it is to see a woman celebrate herself in the middle of her journey, rather than waiting until the end of it.
Because how often do we delay feeling good about ourselves? How often do we tell ourselves we’ll do something “when we’re ready,” “when we’ve lost a bit more,” “when everything feels perfect”?
Ms B chose not to wait. She chose to celebrate her body as a work in progress. She chose to acknowledge her strength, her growth, and her resilience. And in doing so, she created something far more meaningful than just a set of beautiful photos. 😍
She created a reminder. A reminder that she is allowed to feel confident now. That she is allowed to feel sexy now. That she is allowed to take up space and celebrate herself exactly as she is.
Because your body does not need to be finished to be worthy. It is already enough. And you are allowed to see it that way. ✨
