Boudoir Photography Upper Coomera – Ms S’s story. 🥰
Some women walk into my studio carrying more than just a handbag. They carry stories. Strength. Exhaustion. Love that runs so deep it almost aches.
Ms S is one of those women.
A beautiful mum of six, her world revolves around her children, especially one of her sons who is currently facing a serious illness. Hospital visits, appointments, constant worry… it’s a lot. The kind of “a lot” that most people don’t fully understand unless they’ve lived it. And through all of that, she shows up. Every single day. For her kids. For her family. For everyone else. But somewhere in that, like so many mums, she had slowly been placing herself further and further down the priority list.
Until this.

This session wasn’t just a photoshoot. It was a pause. A breath. A moment that was hers.
When Ms S walked into the studio, I could feel that mix of nerves and quiet anticipation. That feeling of “I don’t usually do things like this… but I need this.” And oh my goodness, did she ever. She slipped into pieces from my client wardrobe, including a stunning blue set from The Black Market, and slowly but surely, was remembered something she hadn’t felt in a while. Herself. 💖
Not just “mum.” Not just “carer.” Not just “the strong one who holds everything together.” But a woman. A beautiful, powerful, radiant woman.
One of the things I absolutely loved about Ms S was how much of her story she carries on her skin. Her tattoos aren’t just art, they carry real meaning. Of love, her children, her world, her “why.” And photographing her felt like capturing that story in a different way. The softness and strength. The curves and the confidence. The vulnerability and the fire. 🔥
Because both can exist at the same time!
There’s this idea that self-care is a luxury. That it’s something you earn once everything else is done. But here’s the truth:
If you’re constantly pouring into everyone else without filling your own cup, eventually there’s nothing left to give.
And that’s not selfish. That’s human.

Ms S didn’t come in because she had spare time (she definitely didn’t). She came in because she needed to reconnect with herself. To feel something other than stress. To be taken care of, instead of always being the one doing the caring. To be reminded that she is more than everything she does for others. And that matters.
Throughout her session, we laughed, we chatted. We created magic. And by the end of it, she wasn’t the same woman who walked in. Not because she changed…
But because she remembered her strength. Her beauty. Her worth. Being a mum, especially in the circumstances Ms S is navigating, is one of the hardest, most selfless roles there is. It asks everything of you.
But you are still allowed to exist outside of that role. You are still allowed to feel beautiful. You are still allowed to take up space and be seen. In fact, I’d argue it’s essential. Because when you feel good in yourself, when your cup is even just a little bit fuller, you show up differently. With more patience. More energy. More love. Not just for others… but for yourself too.

Ms S, you are incredible. Your strength doesn’t go unnoticed. Your love is written all over you, literally and figuratively, and it was an absolute honour to give you this space to just be. Not mum. Not caretaker. Just you.
And to anyone reading this who feels like they’re always putting themselves last… consider this your gentle reminder:
You deserve time for yourself too.
Not when everything calms down. Not when life gets easier.
Now.
Because you matter just as much as everyone you care for.
