Ms K – A Boudoir Comeback and a Lesson in Self-Care

I first met Ms K through a shared love of the world’s most adorable dog breed—the Japanese Spitz. She’s got a gorgeous pack of her own and a long history of showing them, and as a fellow Spitz mum, we hit it off instantly. She came to me for her first lovely boudoir shoot back in 2021, and I had the absolute honour of photographing her wedding no long after.

Fast forward to 2025, and Ms K came back to my new Gold Coast studio for a second boudoir shoot – and let me tell you, this one was just as incredible, if not more!

There’s something extra special about second-time clients. There’s already trust. There’s already that understanding of how the process works. But what’s most exciting for me is seeing how far they’ve come—not just in terms of confidence, but in life, love, and that beautiful relationship with themselves.

This time around, we changed things up. A different studio space. New outfits. Fresh poses. And a cheeky recreation of one of her favourite photos from the first lovely boudoir shoot (you can see the comparison below—you tell me which one’s your fave, because I honestly can’t pick!).

As always, Ms K brought her radiant redhead energy, her quick laugh, and her beautiful open heart. But this time there was also something deeper… a sense of “I’m doing this just for me.”

And that’s the thing. So many of us, especially as women, give everything to everyone else—partners, kids, pets (yep, even show dogs), work, family. We’re constantly on the go, and it’s so easy to put ourselves last.

But this shoot? This was Ms K’s reminder to herself that she matters too. That her joy, confidence, and comfort in her skin are worth the time and effort. That carving out a few hours to feel pampered, powerful and completely herself is not a luxury—it’s a form of self-care.

And honestly? That’s what I want for every woman who walks into my studio.

I want you to know it’s okay to slow down. To take up space. To be the main character for a hot minute. Boudoir isn’t just about photos (although the results are pretty damn fabulous)—it’s about reconnecting with your body, celebrating who you are right now, and giving yourself the kind of attention you actually deserve.

For Ms K, this lovely boudoir shoot wasn’t just a follow-up. It was a moment to breathe. A moment to celebrate how far she’s come since 2021. A moment to see herself through fresh eyes and say, “Yeah, I’ve still got it.” Hell, she even flew up from Sydney JUST for this shoot! Now that’s a commitment to herself I admire.

And spoiler alert: she definitely still has it! From elegant lace to a killer smile, she absolutely owned it from start to finish!

So if you’re reading this and thinking, Oh, Id love to do something like that, but nows not the right time—let me gently challenge you. Maybe now is exactly the time. Maybe what you need isn’t a holiday or a massage or a new planner. Maybe what you need is a moment to celebrate yourself. To press pause. To remember who the hell you are underneath the chaos.

Because you, my darling, are worth it.

Just ask Ms K.
