Boudoir Poses That Flatter Every Body

One of the biggest fears many women have before a boudoir shoot is this: What if I dont know how to pose?
Let me reassure you right now — that’s my job, not yours.

As a professional photographer, I’ve worked with women of all shapes, ages, and levels of experience in front of the camera. And what I’ve learned is this: the best boudoir poses aren’t one-size-fits-all. They’re tailored to you — your unique body, your personality, and what you want to highlight (or play down).

The Art of Flattering Posing

Every body is different, and every client brings something beautiful to the table. Some women want to showcase their long legs, others their waist or bust. Some want to hide arms, tummies, or cellulite. Many want to fall in love with a part of themselves they’ve never liked — and that’s where the real magic happens.

I guide you through every single pose, from your fingers to your toes, and use angles and lighting to celebrate your best features. Think soft shadows that contour your curves, gentle elongation that gives your body that graceful, statuesque look, and movement that keeps you relaxed and natural.

Posing for Confidence (Not Perfection)

Sometimes, a client will tell me she hates her tummy, her thighs, or her profile. Instead of hiding it completely, I like to challenge us both: What if we show it… differently?
With the right pose, angle, and lighting, you may see that part of yourself in a brand new way. And I can’t count how many times a client has surprised herself by choosing one of those images for her final collection — not just because it looked beautiful, but because it changed the way she felt about herself.

That’s the real power of boudoir.

Styling and Lingerie That Support Great Posing

Believe it or not, what you wear has a huge impact on how poses work for your body. I always help clients choose outfits that move well, shape beautifully, and don’t fight the flow of a pose. Quick tips?

  • Bodysuits work on every single body type. Full stop.
  • Corsets and babydolls are rarely as flattering as they promise.
  • Oversized sweaters, button-downs, and jeans can be insanely cute — and a great PG option for those photos you want to share with grandma or on the socials.
  • Accessories (like stockings, jewellery, or a favourite book) can completely elevate a pose and give you something to interact with.

You Dont Need to Be a Model

Posing is something we do together. You don’t have to arrive knowing how to arch your back or pop your hip — I’ll guide you gently through each step so you feel comfortable, powerful, and beautifully in control.

The boudoir poses we choose for your shoot will be as unique as you are, and they’ll always reflect what you want to see in your images — not some impossible standard.

Now, fair warning, I spend about an hour on the actual shoot – not because I don’t want to spend more time with you, but because posing is hard work. Let’s be honest, sometimes those glamorous poses you see in my portfolio are super awkward to get into, or actually painful. Sorry not sorry. It’s worth it, I promise!

Whether you’re long and lean, curvy and petite, somewhere in between, or none of the above — I’ve got you. Let’s create images that make you feel confident, beautiful, and yourself.
