When Ms M first reached out, there was a quiet strength in her message. In the last few years, she had lost her beloved husband – the man who had always made her feel seen, cherished, and utterly beautiful. In the aftermath of his passing, Ms M found herself standing at a crossroads. Her world had changed forever, but something inside her refused to dim. She told us she wanted to do something bold. Something just for her. Something to remind herself that she was still here – still radiant, still strong, still worthy of love, especially her own.
So she booked a boudoir shoot.
When she walked into my studio, I instantly felt her warm nature. There was a softness to her, but also a determination in her eyes that spoke volumes. She was nervous, of course – almost everyone is – but she was ready. Ready to honour her grief, but not be defined by it. Ready to embrace the version of herself that had weathered heartbreak and come out the other side, still standing.
During her session, something beautiful happened. We watched as Ms M began to open up, little by little. As the music played and the camera clicked, she started to let go. She slipped into her red lace lingerie and stood tall in front of the mirror, letting herself truly see herself – not through the lens of loss, but through the eyes of love, power, and renewal. And the transformation was breathtaking.
Her laughter was infectious. There were tender moment – especially when she saw the first images on the back of the camera. “I didn’t think I could look like that.” But she did. And not just because of the hair and makeup, or the lingerie, or the lighting. It was because of the way she allowed herself to be fully present. Brave. Vulnerable. Alive.

One request Ms M had was to include her memorial tattoo she’d gotten to honour her late husband. The love she had for him was so pure and obvious, even from the perspective of someone who didn’t even know him and their relationship at the time.
Another thing we did was to include the angel wings in some of Ms M’s photos. She wasn’t sure if they would be “for her”, but I thought it was a perfect symbol of the new beginnings she is embarking on. As soon as she put them on, it looked like they belonged on her. She positively glowed, and I’m so glad we included them in her session.
Ms M chose a luxurious red velvet album to hold her images for the future – a gorgeous tribute to both her confidence and the love she still carries with her. Each page tells a story of resilience and beauty, a reminder that even after unimaginable loss, there is still joy to be found and celebrated. Her photos radiate strength, femininity, and grace. They are a testament to who she is now – not just the woman she used to be.
And perhaps the most touching part? Ms M was so moved by her experience that she referred one of her friends to do the same. That simple act – sharing something so deeply personal – speaks volumes about how powerful her session was. I don’t take it lightly when someone trusts me enough to refer a friend. In fact, I honour it through a special Referral Program. When you refer someone to my studio, both you and your friend receive session perks like discounts and bonus image credits – it’s my way of saying “thank you” for helping me spread the magic!

To Ms M – thank you for your courage, your trust, and your radiant energy. Your session was unforgettable, and your story will stay with me always. I hope your images continue to serve as a reminder of your strength and your beauty – inside and out!
